About Adrian E. Cortes:
We live in a special place don’t we? The natural beauty all around us. The unbridled spirit of community. Our resilient, hard-working people. My history includes growing up in the Battle Ground area from the young age of five. I remember working during the summer months picking berries on Mrs. Koski’s blueberry farm and working on the Cotton family farm riding the raspberry picking machines with childhood friends. I graduated from Prairie High School then I attended Clark College. I worked in the private sector then switched careers and ultimately became a public school educator, teaching special education for Camas Schools. I started my family here in Clark County. I’ve served as chairman for the Battle Ground Planning Commission then was elected twice to the Battle Ground City Council; currently serving in my second term.
I have seen our region transform and grow but I am concerned about our direction. We recently have seen county government suffer from a host of challenging issues; whether its higher property taxes, property rights threatened, or poor management of county resources. I hear you and I am ready to lead. I am proud to run for Clark County Council, District 4, which represents Amboy, Yacolt, Battle Ground, Hockinson, Brush Prairie, Camas, and Washougal. Why I am running is simple: I believe I can help provide good leadership, good public policy and sound oversight of taxpayer dollars: It is about focusing on the outcome not the income.
My deep roots of over 37 years in Clark County, along with my faith, my family, and my neighbors continue to inspire me; I would be thankful to earn your support. Stay tuned for more about the critical issues facing our county.
